Managed Areas now available in Deputy Pro

Administrators can now select specific areas for team members to be able to schedule and approve timesheets in when using Deputy Pro.

What’s New ✨

  • Administrators of Deputy pro installs can now limit who can schedule and approve timesheets by allocating specific areas within a location to their managers. For example a Front of House manager who can't schedule for the Kitchen.
  • This is available on any role (including custom roles) for which the team member has permission to schedule or approve timesheets.

Why you'll love it 💖

  • Until now you have had to choose between giving managers full access to a location and all areas, or not at all.
  • With this new feature, you can specifically target the areas a manager is permitted to schedule and approve timesheets for.
  • No longer will you need to build out multiple Deputy locations for one physical location to achieve this outcome.
  • This allows you to increase visibility and control over who can perform crucial operations tasks.

How does it work? 🛠️

Managed Areas is an advanced setting on the team members profile. The team member must have access to schedule or approve timesheets under their role, it does not show up for any team members who do not have either of those abilities under their current role.

  1. Go to People listing and open the relevant team member's profile.
  2. Open the Employment Tab on the left hand side and On the Employment tab click Edit
  3. Under the Advanced Settings click Managed Areas and use the Add area drop down to choose the areas they can schedule and approve timesheets for. If any area is not selected here they will not be able to schedule or approve timesheets for those areas.

When will it be available?

Managed Areas is available to all Deputy Pro customers now.
