Copy weekly schedules on mobile 📲

What's new

Managers using the Deputy iOS and Android app can now copy a previous week's schedule to a future week, with a few simple taps.
We know that for many businesses your roster does not change that much week to week. Where previously, you could only copy shifts one day at a time, now you can copy an entire week's schedule and apply it to a future week, making any small adjustments needed before publishing. 

Why

✅  We have made this change to save you time and enable scheduling to be more efficient from the Deputy mobile app ⏱

How to use it

1. Tap the + button on the Schedule Week view then tap 'Copy shifts'
2. Tap to select the shifts that you wish to copy and then tap'Copy x shifts'
3. Swipe to navigate to a future week and tap 'Paste x shifts'

And you're done! Make any small adjustments to the new week's schedule before it's ready to publish.

FlareHR Worker Import Updates.

What's new

  • You can now choose a default location for imported workers - Previously, if we couldn’t automatically create a mapping between the locations listed in Deputy and the location of a worker imported from FlareHR, we would automatically assign them to wherever the integration was originally configured. With this change, you can control which location to assign these users, or even ignore them from the import all together.
  • We’ve overhauled the design of the Import Worker config - The design of the new worker sync setup screen has been completely overhauled. With these changes, we hope you have a better idea on how to both use the integration, and configure it to your needs.

Copy Deputy Forecast & Import Your Own Forecast

What's new

  • Quick copy Deputy forecast to Manager forecastYou will no longer need to switch between Deputy forecast and Manager forecast to copy from one to the other. Now the Deputy forecast data will automatically appear within the Manager forecast if we notice that you have no data.
  • Import your own forecast:  We finally have a way that will allow you to import your own forecast data to override our Deputy Forecast. This can only be done via API, check the API doc for details here

Approve Open Shift Requests from the Web Dashboard

Approve Open Shift requests straight from the DashboardWe have introduced a new web Dashboard widget which will now enable managers to view all open shift requests in one place & approve them swiftly.

 Open Shift defaults to requiring approval: If an open shift is created on the web Schedule tab with ‘Requires approval’, this setting will be remembered for all other open shifts created.

Employees can now view changes to their timesheets! 🔍

What's new ✨

  • Employees can now view changes that have been made to their timesheet including:
    • Shift start time
    • Shift end time
    • Meal break time
  • Managers can also set up an automated reminder for employees to review their timesheets.

Why

✅ To help streamline the process of reviewing timesheets and be ready for payroll.

✅ To increase transparency between your managers and your employees.

✅ We also found that employees want to see the changes being made between the time they clock out and payday.

Create Open Shifts with Manager Approval on Mobile

What’s new

As a manager, you can now create Open shifts with manager approval, directly on your Deputy mobile app! 

This means you can now create and approve open shifts with approval on the mobile. 

Benefit

  • As a busy manager, you no longer need to be near your desktop to CREATE and APPROVE shifts. 
  • Create and approve Open shifts on the go, or while commuting.

Set up Advanced Stress Profiles from Business Settings

What's new

Non-Enterprise customers can also set the advanced stress profile via Business Settings. This feature will be rolled out to everyone in the next 3 days.

  • Access advanced stress profiles via Business Settings: Managers can access their stress profiles under the “People” tab via “Business Settings”.

  • View/Create/Update stress profiles in one place When managers access the stress profile via Business Settings, they will be able to create new custom stress profiles or view/update existing stress profiles too.

Why

Advanced stress profiles is an essential tool not only for Enterprise customers, but also for Non-Ent SMB customers to efficiently manage their employee’s schedules to ensure themselves to be aligned with labor compliance standards etc.

First thing you'll notice is our new logo and updated app icons.

Schedule improvements
We've worked to modernise the schedule tab: removing unnecessary lines, adding a little extra spacing and generally tidying up a bit. As part of these updates we've simplified the shift status colours: unpublished shifts are now grey, and empty shifts are white. 

Refreshed web app
Across the web app you'll see our updated colour palette (now with added contrast to meet accessibility guidelines), icons and components.

Mobile apps
The updated colour palette and icons continue through our mobile app creating a consistent experience wherever you're using Deputy.

And of course, everybody's favourite... dark mode 🦇🌚

Setting up Daily or Weekly Budget in Business Insights

What's new

  • For new customers, you can setup either daily or weekly budgets for both wages and hours in the new Budget setting component.


  • For existing customers, you can switch budgets between Daily and Weekly easily by clicking "Budget settings".

  • Better plan your schedules by comparing Budget vs. Scheduled in stats panel. You can hover-over the weekly or daily summary to compare your scheduled hours/wages with budgets .

Why

We understand different business have different ways for setting up the budgets. By supporting business to set up their budget in either weekly or daily, it could help you to schedule your employee more efficiently.
